LAZERFEST Shuttles
No one likes traffic jams so take the LAZERFEST shuttle instead. Multiple busses will be running again from the Southridge Mall parking lot (directions) — look for the signs/tents — starting at 10am and will be running throughout the day of the festival, until 1am Monday morning. Park your car at Southridge and leave the driving to someone else. These shuttles are absolutely free, so please use them and help reduce traffic congestion.
Car Pool
More cares means more traffic. It will help eliminate long traffic lines and get you into the show quicker.
Leave Early
It usually takes about 15-20 minutes to get down to Indianola from Des Moines on an average day, but LAZERFEST is NOT an average day. There will traffic and LOTS of it, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to the show. Gates open at noon, but parking lots will be open starting at 9am.
Recommended Driving Directions
To alleviate the long lines of LAZERFEST traffic getting to the grounds for the show, we suggest following the routes below and approach the entrance to the grounds from different directions so everybody doesn't get stuck in the same line.
From North (Des Moines/Minneapolis)
- Take US 65/69 S towards Indianola
- Turn left at the first traffic signal onto E Hillcrest Ave.
- Head east on E Hillcrest towards Summerset Trail
- Continue onto Co Rd G36
- Head Southeast on 150th Ave towards Illinois St
- Turn left onto Jewell St. Follow the posted signs.
From East (Iowa City/Davenport)
- Take I-80 W towards Des Moines
- Take exit 141 to merge onto US-65 S toward Pleasant Hill/Des Moines (11.6mi)
- Take exit 72 to merge onto IA-5 S toward Carlisle (5.2mi)
- Turn right onto Co Rd S23 (7.6mi)
- Turn right on IA-92 W (4.5mi)
- Turn right on 150th Ave. Follow the posted signs.
From South (Kansas City, MO)
- Take I-35 N toward Des Moines
- Take exit 33 for US-34 toward Osceola/Creston
- Turn right onto US-34 E (1.4mi)
- Turn left onto US-69 N/S Main St. Continue to follow US-69 N toward 150th Ave (28.6mi)
- Turn left at 150th Ave. Follow the posted signs.
From West (Omaha, NE)
- Take I-80 E towards Des Moines
- Take the I-35 N/I-80 E exit toward Chicago/Minneapolis
- Take exit 123B to merge onto I-35 S towards to Kansas City (15.6mi)
- Take the exit toward IA-92 E
- Turn left onto IA-92 E
- Head east on IA-92 E toward 150th Ave (14.1mi) Follow the posted signs.
