Here's What's News
ATTN:Iowa Bands. A Note from Kevin of Marcato!
Over the last 4 years, I have been steadily growing my skills as a producer and engineer. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to produce a Marcato EP with Hollywood producer, Brian Hearity, who has worked with Rage Against The Machine, American Head Charge, and Grammy winning blues guitarist Robin Ford, along with Weezer, Hanson, and Autolux.
Marcato recorded the EP "In the Absence of Violent Motion" under the direction of Brian, at the legendary Sunset Sound in Hollywood...the same studio where Prince recorded the multi-platinum "Purple Rain", and where the Smashing Pumpkins recorded "Machina: Machines of God"....not to mention that almost every Doors album, every Led Zepplin album, and all of Van Halen's platinum albums were produced there.
Needless to say, the experiences were life changing.
I have recently worked out a deal with the owners of Sonic Factory Studios, right here in Des Moines. For those of you who don't know, the Sonic Factory is a world class project studio, owned by Jon Locker of the Nadas, and professional studio musician and former Nadas drummer, Tony Bodhencamp.
Starting May 1st, I will be freelancing at the Sonic Factory and offering extremely affordable rates to bands who want a professional sounding demo or full length project.
Typical rates at the Sonic Factory are 7000 dollars for a full length project...and I realize that most bands do not have a spare 7 grand just floating around. That is why I have worked out a deal with Jon and Tony to offer "demo rates" to bands who want to work on an hourly basis, instead of the huge project price.
For the next few months, I will be recording demos and albums for ONLY 25 dollars per hour. A four hour session will only cost you 100 dollars. If you have 5 guys in your band, that's just 20 bucks per person. You will not find a better price anywhere for the master quality you will get at Sonic Factory.
If you have songs that are well rehearsed and ready to record, I am confident that we can do a full EP or pro demo in as little as a few days, and it won't cost you much.
As a musician, I know how hard it is to save money and produce a great demo. That is why I am offering such an affordable price to fellow musicians.
Please pass the word along. Interested bands, please contact me.

After much consideration Index Case, as a band, have decided to part ways with drummer Ryan Berrier. Ryan is a great person, a great drummer, and a great friend of all of ours! Two years ago Ryan dropped everything he was doing to help us out in a time of need, and we are extremely grateful for that! But after many discussions we just felt it was time to part ways. We would like to thank everyone for hanging in there with us for so long during the writing and recording process we are going through. Thank you and we will see everyone soon!!
